This post is a bit late but better late than never, right?! Over the summer our campus was made even more beautiful and interesting by the addition of two very large scale sculptures (so large that cranes were needed for installation)! These sculptures join us from the Philadelphia Museum of Art from the Association for Public Art, who is lending them to us for 99 years!
Lousie Nevelson’s “Atmosphere and Environment XII” is a geometric piece which lives on Shoemaker Green (between Franklin Field and the Palestra) and Jacob Epstein’s “Social Consciousness” is of five figures and lives along the Memorial Garden Walkway next to the Van Pelt Dietrich Library Center.
There are always new and exciting things happening here on campus and we just love it!
