This is one of the most exciting exhibitions I have seen in a while! And not only that, but, the exhibition includes installations from several Penn faculty and alumni. I am often proud to be a part of the Penn family and today is no exception. Designs for Different Futures addresses many questions about our future- many of us think about flying cars and drones delivering packages but what about things like air quality and food- will there even be enough food to feed everybody in the future? Orkan Telhan, Associate Professor of Fine Arts here at Weitzman, has thought about this. One of the pieces in his installation “Breakfast Before Extinction” is a steak made up of human cells.
Also featured is a social robot created by Mark Yim and Simon Kim (Associate Professor in Architecture at Weitzman), A flushable pregnancy test created by Penn IPD graduates Anna Couturier Simpson and Bethany Edwards, and a 3-d Bioprinter co-founded by Penn alumni Ricky Solorzano and Danny Cabrera.
This exhibition will be on view until March 8th, be sure to check it out! (Penn students get a generous admission discount)!
