Open data has become very useful in the classrooms here at PennDesign! One example is that it is helping students make predictions on where natural disasters are likely to happen again. With these predictions city planners can guide cities' infrastructure plans to mitigate future risks. Open data is quite helpful because before it was available across cities nationwide city planners often had to sign data-use agreements which barred its use in classrooms. To read more click here.
