PennDesign alumnus Nick McClintock (M.Arch/MLA’16) along with Gilad Meron and Mia Scharphie have just launched Proactive Practices, a research collaborative that, in their own words, is “a research project examining design firms and nonprofits that use participatory and community-engaged approaches to work towards social, environmental or economic impact. These in-depth case studies explore how sustainable public interest design practices have been built. We examine their business models, organizational structures, design methods, financial strategies, impact metrics, origin stories and more.” Congratulations Ryan!
