Well, it may be a quiet day here in Penndesign's admission's office but it is definitely not a quiet day on campus! Today is not only Penn's annual 'Hey Day' but it is also the first day of Penn Relays! Campus is full of people and great energy!
Hey Day began in 1916 and was originally a day to celebrate the moving up of each class. Now it is mainly a celebration of the junior class moving into their senior year. How can you tell it's Hey Day outside? Easy- you see thousands of marching students parading around campus wearing fake straw hats, red T-shirts and canes. It's quite the sight to see!
The Penn Relays is the oldest track and field competition in the United Sates and is hosted every year in our very own Franklin Field. We hope our athletes kick butt today!
