Happy Holidays! We wanted to let you know that we will be out of the office from Tuesday December 24th at 1:00pm through January 1st, and back in the office on Thursday, January 2nd. We will have limited access to email but will not be in the office to answer the phone. If you have immediate questions about your application please take a look at these frequently asked questions below.
How do I know if you received my application materials? (test scores/transcripts etc) Once you have submitted your application you will have access to a checklist. Please log in to Your ApplyWeb account and click ‘View My Checklist’. This will allow you to see what we have and have not yet received for your application.
How can I apply for more than one program? You can only start your second online application after you have completed and submitted your first degree program application. Please note that if you apply to a second application in Weitzman Design, you do not have to pay a second application fee. Any official transcripts and/or WES evalautions and test scores we receive for you will automatically be uploaded to both applications.Your recommenders, however, will need to upload their letters for you separately to each application. The application system will send them an automatic prompt for each application.
My test scores will come in past the application deadline, is this ok? We do allow for test scores to come in a bit past the application deadline. Please be sure to have ETS send your scores electronically to institution code 2926. Please also be aware that it generally takes 15 days from the date you sit for the GRE / TOEFL to when we electronically receive your scores.
My US transcript and/or Evaluation (for non-US institutions) will come in past the application deadline, is this ok? For transcripts: We do allow for US transcripts to come in a bit past the application deadline. If your institution offers an electronic service, please select that and make sure they are being sent to admissions@design.upenn.edu. For Evaluations: It will be ok if it is a bit late providing you A) submit your application by the deadline and B) list the Stuart Weitzman School of Design as a recipient of your evaluation. This way we will have access to see the progress of your evaluation. In the meantime, you should upload English-translated unofficial transcripts to your application that will serve as a place holder until we do receive your evaluation. The faculty admissions committee will review your application even if they have not received your evaluation, however they will not provide an admissions decision until they have received all components of the application.
My letters of recommendation will come in past the application deadline, is this ok? Yes, it will be ok if your recommenders submit their letters a bit past the deadline.
Why won’t my portfolio load? Most likely it is because the file size is too large. Your portfolio must be 10MB or less. We offer instructions on how to downsize the portfolio on our website here: https://www.design.upenn.edu/supporting-materials. Please note that these instructions do not work for everyone. If they do not work for you it is up to you to find a way to downsize your portfolio.
