Dear Weitzman Community,
We are writing to inform you of a slight increase in printing and plotting costs at the Weitzman School of Design, effective this semester, beginning on Tuesday August 26th.
Printing prices are set solely to recover the cost of materials, supplies, and service associated with operating the print area of Weitzman IT Services. We are not a for-profit operation, and our goal is to keep services affordable and accessible for our students while maintaining high standards.
Despite our best efforts to secure competitive pricing when purchasing supplies and equipment, the cost of materials and maintenance has continued to rise steadily. The modest price adjustment we are implementing will help us keep up with rising costs and continue providing quality printing services.
We understand that printing costs can be a concern for students, and we’ve taken care to benchmark our updated pricing against those at peer design schools. Even with this adjustment, Weitzman remains comfortably on the lower end of the cost spectrum.
To support students, we will continue to provide printing credits at the beginning of each semester. These credits are intended to ease the transition into our printing workflows and support learning in our creative and technical processes.
You can find all printing pricing and related information on our webpage: https://www.design.upenn.edu/it/printers-pricing
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in IT. We're here to help.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Best regards,
Weitzman School of Design IT Services
