Have ideas of using another inkjet material not included in the HP media brochure? Please make sure that the paper weight is a maximum of 260gsm and minimum weight of 90gsm. If you have a question about the material, please consult with IT Staff on material you have in mind before attempting to print. If the material is thicker or thinner than described, the printer may be damaged permanently. Be considerate of all the Weitzman users and follow the guidelines when choosing your materials.

Printing Charges and Printing Credit

  • Printing charges accumulate under your Weitzman Account and the total charges over $5.00 will be sent to your Student Bill.
  • Students receive an initial credit at the start of the semester to help offset printing issues and errors that may occur throughout the semester. Each student receives a $50.00 printing credit in the Fall, and $50.00 in the Spring. Printing credit does not carry over. 
  • Weitzman ITS will submit your printing bill for the Fall, Spring, or Summer Semesters.
  • Students will be messaged through the designs-lists@design.upenn.edu email address to notify when Weitzman Print Billing will take place.   

View your account statement and request print refunds

  • Access your PaperCut account from a Weitzman Lab machine, on a personal device using AirPennNet, or while logged in to the Weitzman FortiClient VPN.
  • Log-in using your PennKey credentials. https://printing.design.upenn.edu:9192/user
  • Modify the "Filter" to include your search criteria. The default is 30 days past. You can modify the search criteria to accommodate your search. 
  • To Request a refund, select "Recent Print Jobs", on the far right column under "Status" you will see the option to "Request Refund".
  • Refer to the Print Guidelines page for information on print refunds and qualifications.
  • To ensure your refund request is processed, please verify that the dates you are requesting are applicable and that your request is submitted before the semester ends. Weitzman Print Bills will be forwarded to The University of Pennsylvania Student Registration and Financial Services at the conclusion of the Summer, Spring, and Fall semesters. 

Billing Codes (Shared Accounts/PaperCut)

  • Printing that will be paid for and assigned a budget code by a department
  • A special project
  • By faculty/department coordinator request
  • To have a billing code created, send an email to ithelp@design.upenn.edu, include the PennKey usernames of all people who should have access to the shared account.
  • IT will follow up to your group with instructions on accessing the shared account when printing.
