The Weitzman School’s community consists of over 800 students and 235 faculty and staff that come from 30 countries and 42 US states and territories. To celebrate the cultural diversity of our community, we have invited all students, faculty, and staff to share images from their hometown, focusing on activities taking place in public space. We’ve located those hometowns on a Dymaxion world map. This view of the world has the merit of eschewing biases associated with the four cardinal directions. It also reminds us that wherever we come from, we are all connected, and often much closer geographically than we think. This collection of images demonstrates the fantastic cultural richness of our community. We hope that the diversity and the beauty they depict remind us of what brings us together.
The Weitzman School Justice and Belonging Committee thanks all members of our community who shared their pictures and stories. A special thanks to the following individuals, who dedicated their talent and time to the design, production and installation of the project: Ariel Genadt, Shen Tao, Archit Kulkarni, John (Jianan) Dai, Marquise D. Williams, Elizabeth Anderson, Urvi Pawar, Mark Harper, Brendan Burke, Patrick Haggerty, Matt Miller, Karl Wellman.
