Last week, the Chicago Architecture Biennial announced the contributors selected for its 2021 edition, The Available City. Among the 29 global practices selected for inclusion is PORT, the multi-disciplinary design firm of Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture Chris Marcinkoski and his co-founder Andrew Moddrell.
PORT joins a group of design innovators who will bring their perspectives from cities around the world to collaborate with Chicago community groups. Together they will explore forms of shared, collective space and inspire new and imaginative uses of vacant spaces in the city. The installations, activations, exhibits, projects and programs will be shared with the public in neighborhoods across Chicago and on digital platforms when the Biennial opens on September 17, 2021.
