Those are some of the questions that graduate students from the University of Pennsylvania's landscape architecture program pondered over the last two years.
PennDesign adjunct professor Ellen Neises led the project that began in 2015. Ninety students participated in gathering information, speaking with Slate Belt leaders and ultimately presenting design ideas on a variety of regionwide topics.
