In addition to Fleming, other Weitzman speakers include Dean Fritz Steiner, who will present on “The Emergence of the SITES Rating System for Enhancing Public Spaces.” Nicholas Pevzner, assistant professor of landscape architecture, will lead a panel on “Resilience and Multifunctional Energy Landscapes for a Green New Deal.”
On Friday, March 19, former chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture and alum Anne Whiston Spirn (MLA`74) will receive CELA’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
According to CELA, the theme of this year’s conference, resilience was chosen “to reflect on the circumstances which led to the current state of design education, research and professional practice and investigate courses of action, direction and vision that will propel the leaders of design professionals through administration, advocacy, research, service and teaching.”
