What are the paths to bridging cultures, engaging neighborhood histories, encouraging entrepreneurship, increasing economic opportunity, and opening dialogues in 2016? Past recipients of the Knight Cities Challenge grant discuss a variety of dynamic and inclusive projects in Philadelphia with innovative approaches and unique funding sources. Panelists include: Michelle Freeman, Urban Consulate/Witty Gritty; Anuj Gupta, Reading Terminal Market; Deenah Loeb, City Parks Association; Lindsey Scannapieco, Scout, Ltd., and Tayyib Smith, Little Giant Creative.
The Knight Cities Challenge is dedicated to funding ideas to make cities more successful. From October 10 to November 3, 2016, the Knight Foundation invites innovators from all over the country to share their ideas for making the 26 Knight communities more vibrant places to live and work. From a pool of $5 million, Knight will award grants at the city, neighborhood and block levels, and all sizes in between.
