Agatha Sloboda studies historic preservation at the Weitzman School of Design, with a concentration in public history of the built environment. This summer they will be writing an addendum to the National Register nomination for Sellers Hall, highlighting archival evidence for the Hall as a site within the Underground Railroad network. After completing their BA at Bryn Mawr College, Agatha worked in Washington, D.C. on various projects involving tourism, education, and hospitality. In their current work, Agatha is interested in applying techniques of material and landscape legibility to sites of Philadelphia’s educational, African American, and jazz histories.
