Boqian is a Ph.D. student major in city planning at Weitzman Stuart School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania and a Registered Landscape Architect (paperwork in progress). Before returning to school for his doctoral degree, Boqian practiced at James Corner Field Operations in New York City for three years and worked on a variety of projects in both the United States and China. His work around Manhattan ranges from conceptual design, SD, DD, CD to CA, including Newark Riverfront Park, Cornell Tech Campus, Greenpoint Landing, and Citi Bank Rooftop. He also participated in the planning and urban design competitions of Xiongan New Area in Heibei Province, China. His earlier intern experience as a landscape designer in Beijing, Hong Kong, and San Francisco enriched his knowledge across the two countries. Boqian holds a master's degree in landscape architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree in landscape gardening at the Beijing Forestry University.
