Starr Herr-Cardillo is a project manager with Penn Praxis working on the development of a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for the Pennsylvania Hospital. Previously, she helped develop a CMP for San Xavier del Bac, an 18th century mission church near her hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Growing up in Tucson, she was inspired to enter the field by a deep appreciation for the southwestern landscape, adobe vernacular architecture, and regional building traditions. She enjoys working directly with people and learning about why and how they value places. She is also a contributing writer for Hidden City Philadelphia and WHYY’s PlanPhilly.
