Cincinnati and Hamilton County Community-Wide Housing Strategy
Housing Our Future is a community-driven housing plan for Cincinnati and Hamilton County. Spearheaded by Greater Cincinnati Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the process to create the strategy has involved a broad coalition of stakeholders, including City and County officials, financial institutions, philanthropists, for- and non-profit housing developers, housing service providers, and residents experiencing housing challenges firsthand.
As consultants to LISC, Vincent Reina and Claudia Aiken:
- Conducted a data-driven study of the local housing market, analyzing housing conditions, development trends, costs and affordability, and trends in housing crises such as eviction, foreclosure, and homelessness.
- Facilitated three public meetings attended by over 200 residents and stakeholders.
- Guided five working groups in the development of over 100 recommendations and provided best practice research to support these recommendations.
- In collaboration with Greater Cincinnati LISC and the Community Building Institute, drafted a Strategy and companion document designed to provide the maximum possible clarity, impact, and consensus.
