Guava Rhee is a multimedia artist, independent curator, and full-time educator, born and raised in South Korea and based in Philadelphia. Her artistic practice explores the intersectionality of queer desire and the Korean diaspora through the reconstruction of autobiography. Since 2023, as a co-founder of curatorial duo named project ieerie, Rhee has successfully curated multiple group exhibitions in Philadelphia, State College, Los Angeles, and Seoul, featuring underrepresented artists based in the United States, South Korea, and Germany.
Rhee is currently working as a full-time lecturer at Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the same institution and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornell University.
