Kevin Cannon is co founder of Cannon Architecture Studio based in NYC. He is a registered architect in New York State, a member of the American Institute of Architects and a LEED accredited profesional.
Kevin is currently a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania where he teaches graduate design studios. He has also taught at Pratt Institute and has been a guest critic at Columbia, Syracuse, NJIT and Georgia Tech.
Kevin’s academic approach is Comparative and Analytical, rooted in research on the idea of place and the studied understanding of how new form transforms the meaning of place.
Kevin asks his students to explore the construct between meaning and making with emphasis on the phenomenological experience, materiality and the detail.
Prior to founding Cannon Architecture Studio, Kevin lead design teams at a number of offices including Gensler, FXFOWLE, KPF and Selldorf Architects. As a design director and a senior design architect, he has worked on a wide variety of project scales and typologies from highly crafted private residential projects to large scale transportation projects as well as museums and complex mixed use commercial projects both domestically and internationally. Kevin received a Masters in Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Georgia Institute of Technology.
