Mojtaba Saffarian is a preservation architect and research associate at the Center for Architectural Conservation at the Weitzman School of Design. He holds a Master of Science in Historic Preservation with a concentration in architectural conservation from Weitzman, where he joined CAC in 2022 as a student and contributed to several projects across the U.S. Southwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. His master's thesis explored the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in historic preservation, with the George Nakashima Family House as the case study. Before attending Weitzman, Mojtaba earned a master's degree in the revitalization of historic architecture and urban fabrics from Tehran University of Art, along with a bachelor's degree in architecture. His research interests include digital documentation, BIM, and 3D modeling, particularly in the context of modern and earthen architecture.
