The design makes flood projections visible: rising and falling sculpture heights mirror projected sea level rise and water dynamics.
Aiming to retrofit existing urban corridors for livibility, Adrian Casas, Yihang Xu, Ryan Swett, and Xingyan Shi re-envisioned the urban voids of highway “green dividers” in Altavista, Ciudad Guayana.
In another take on retrofitting Altavista’s highway dividers, Yaohan Xu, Hao Zhu, Tianyu Zhang, Wenjun Zhu, and Yaxi Zuo imagine a lively and multi-use market space.
Varun Bhakhri, Allie Hayes, Chloe Richards, and Fanessa de la Rosa’s goal for Altavista’s empty green spaces was to create intentionally-programmed outdoor space with micro-habitats and climate-adaptive landscapes.
