First off, thank you for your application to the Weitzman School of Design! Now that you’ve submitted your application, you may be wondering what comes next. We’ve included important information and next steps you can take while you wait for decisions to be released.
Tuition and Financial Aid Information
Tuition and fees are available on our website. Information for the 2023-2024 academic year will be updated by March. Tuition and fees typically increase 4% each year.
Financial Aid - Weitzman School of Design Scholarships
Financial aid is awarded on a merit basis. We do not require any additional information from you at this time to be considered for financial aid; the faculty admissions committee will distribute scholarships during the admissions review. If you receive a scholarship, you will be notified with your admissions decision.
Federal Loans and Work-Study (US Citizens and Permanent Residents)
If you are a United States citizen or Permanent Resident and wish to be considered for federal loans and/or work-study, please file the FAFSA as soon as possible and preferably no later than Wednesday, February 15. Penn's Federal School Code is 003378. Please note we are unable to confirm receipt of FAFSAs at this point as we do not receive access to the submitted FAFSAs until late February/early March when we are working on your preliminary financial aid package. However, please be assured that we will reach out to you if your FAFSA is missing at that point.
Outside Scholarships
We encourage you to explore outside scholarships to help fund your education. Our admissions website has a small list of outside scholarships that are not affiliated with Penn but may be available to our graduate students. You may also find relevant outside scholarships on external databases such as Fastweb.
Important Dates
Decisions will be released Monday, March 13 after 12 PM ET. You will be able to view your decision on your application status page. Our open house for admitted and waitlisted candidates is scheduled for Monday, March 27 and will be held in person in Philadelphia, PA. More information will be sent to admitted and waitlisted candidates. Virtual opportunities will also be available.
