Neri&Hu Design and Research Office, the Shanghai-based architecture firm led by Miller Professor and Chair of Architecture Rossana Hu and Lyndon Neri, earned multiple honors this summer.
At the DNA Paris Design Awards 2024, organized by Farmani Group, Neri&Hu's New Bund 31 Performing Arts Center was selected as the Grand prix of Interior Design Winner (Interior Design of the Year) and winner in the Civic Buildings category. Meanwhile, Qujiang Museum of Fine Arts Extension; Sanya Wellness Retreat; Piaget Flagship Boutique; The Shàng by Artyzen Qiantan Shanghai and Jisifang & Woven Moonlight were winners in the Cultural Architecture; Hospitality Architecture; Commercial & Offices; Hospitality Interior and Retails category. The 2024 Awards Ceremony will be held at the Espace Niemeyer in Paris on October 25; it is a private event.
At the AZ Awards 2024, organized by Azure magazine and announced in June, the Nantou City Guesthouse was selected as the Winner in the Architecture: Adaptive Re-Use category. Meanwhile, the Qujiang Museum of Fine Arts Extension and Jisifang & Woven Moonlight won the People's Choice in the Architecture: Commercial & Institutional Buildings Over 1000 SQM and Interiors: Commercial & Institutional category.
Also in June, Neri&Hu Design and Research Office was selected as the Architizer A+Awards 2024 Jury Winner in the Best Adaptive Reuse and Renovation Firm category. The Qujiang Museum of Fine Arts Extension project has been selected as the Popular Choice Winner in the Museum category. According to the organizers, the A+Awards is the industry’s largest and most international awards program and "honors the best architecture and spaces from across the globe."
Founded in 2006 by partners Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, Neri&Hu Design and Research Office is an inter-disciplinary architectural design practice based in Shanghai. The practice’s burgeoning global portfolio includes commissions ranging from master planning and architecture, to interior design, installation, furniture, product, branding and graphic works. Currently working on projects in many countries, Neri&Hu is composed of multi-cultural staff who speak over 30 different languages. The diversity of the team reinforces a core vision for the practice: to respond to a global worldview incorporating overlapping design disciplines for a new paradigm in architecture.
