Thermal Architecture Lab graduate students Yuan-Ching Yu and Zhan Shi have worked with high school students in West Philadelphia this summer to measure and mitigate heat in the urban environment. As part of the Netter Center’s Educational Pipeline Program (EPP), they used sensors to measure their environments, learned about heat stress mitigation, and investigated different designs to address urban cooling.
The high school students presented their work and findings from their study in a special event on July 30th 2025.
