On October 22, 2024, David Owe and Laura Ellis had the incredible honor of visiting the White House, proudly representing the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design. On behalf of President and Dr. Biden, they were invited to an Open House tour for the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA).
Walking through those historic halls was an unforgettable experience, and it served as a powerful reminder of the impact design can have in shaping our world. This opportunity highlighted the importance of using design as a tool for positive change and meaningful connections.
Grateful for this incredible experience!

"Established in 1971, NOMA is an organization for professionals in the AEC fields whose mission, rooted in a rich legacy of activism, is to empower our local chapters and membership to foster justice and equity in communities of color through outreach, community advocacy, professional development and design excellence.
Our aim with creating this chapter is to create a space for minority students which will foster solidarity and cooperation, a place through which students can advocate for themselves and for change in our profession"
