Common Press at the University of Pennsylvania is dedicated to scholarly exploration and creative practice in the history, craft, and material culture of letterpress printing and bookmaking. Through hands-on workshops and tours, we educate about the cultural, historical, and technological significance of typography and bookbinding, making these practices accessible to Penn and the greater Philadelphia community. Our workshops are open to all Penn cardholder, including students, staff and faculty. We also offer curricular support and project consultations.
