The Photography and Video Equipment Room in the Department of Fine Arts provides access to equipment, studios, and technical support to enhance the department's curriculum and facilitate experimental work in photography, video, sound, animation, and design. The equipment is organized in kits for studio or field production and exhibition installation.
A selected list of equipment includes: 4K digital cameras, analog and digital still cameras of all formats, video servers, strobe and LED lighting kits, video projectors, audio recorders, microphones, tripods, and grip equipment. Additional resources include reservable photography and video studios and specialized equipment tutorials led by the Fine Arts Department staff.
The Equipment Room is open when classes are in session and closed between semesters and on University holidays. Below are the Fall & Spring semester hours of operation.
The Photography and Video Equipment Room provides resources to specific courses within the Department of Fine Arts. Students enrolled in authorized FNAR or DSGN courses will need a valid PennCard and a Loan Agreement on file to check out equipment. Access to the Photography and Video Equipment Room resources ends at the end of each semester.
Reserving Equipment
To ensure that equipment will be available when you need it, we recommend making online reservations using the WebCheckout Patron Portal. Reservations for equipment may also be made in person at the Photo Video Equipment Room. If reservations are not picked up, they will automatically cancel after 30 minutes. Please allow at least 15 minutes for checking out and returning equipment at the counter.
