The Common Press
A collaboration between Weitzman School, Kelly Writers House, and the Penn Librairies, The Common Press is the letterpress and book arts studio at the University of Pennsylvania. The facility provides an environment where students can move between digital and manual image making, collaborating with writers, printmakers, designers, scholars, and others with an interest in printing. The Common Press exists to support teaching and to facilitate collaborative projects across the University.
The Fabrication Lab serves as a practical laboratory extension of classroom theory. The lab is equipped for all phases of woodworking, metalworking, and machining, as well as digital fabrication with CNC routing, laser cutting, and 3D FDM printing. The lab is available to all University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design students and to all students enrolled in ancillary Weitzman School courses.
