The Landscape Architecture curriculum was modified due to the pandemic, and LARP students who are taking courses in Summer 2021 that would normally have been held in the spring term may elect Pass/Fail grading for these summer courses. If you wish to take a course Pass/Fail, you will need to opt in: https://srfs.upenn.edu/grade-type-change
Students in other Weitzman degree programs are not eligible for Pass/Fail grading during Summer 2021.

If I am taking a class in another school at Penn, can I still select P/F for the class?
Yes, Weitzman is granting the option to take all of their spring classes Pass/Fail. This means you can select P/F even if the course you are taking is in another school at Penn.
Will selecting P/F affect my graduation?
No. Any courses taken pass/fail will still meet the degree requirements if you pass the course. If you receive an F in the course, it is treated the same way as if you were receiving letter grades, and you will not receive credit for the course.
Will P/F affect my GPA?
Courses that receive a “P” grade are not factored into your GPA. Therefore, if you are trying to raise your GPA from a previous term, selecting the P/F option will not achieve this goal. Courses that receive an “F” grade are factored into your GPA as 0.0 and will affect your GPA, the same way that they would if you failed the course under the letter grade system.
How do I know if my grade type change has been processed?
You will receive an notification email that your request was submitted and under review. Once your grade type change request form has been processed, you’ll receive a second email confirmation notifying you.
