The below figures are the estimated cost of attendance for a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) student starting in summer/fall 2024. Please keep the following in mind as you review the costs below:

  • Indirect costs, such as room/rent, meals, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses, are estimated based on the nine-month academic year and your expenses will vary depending on your individual choices.
  • Tuition at the University of Pennsylvania is projected to increase every year. Increases typically range from 3.75% to 4.25%. For the sake of this document, the projected cost of attendance considers a 4% increase.

**Health Insurance amount represents the 2024-2025 annual cost for the Penn Student Insurance Plan (PSIP). The cost should be determined by June each year. All full-time students must carry comprehensive health insurance as a condition of student enrollment at the University of Pennsylvania. If you have your own insurance coverage, you may request approval to waive enrollment in the Penn Student Insurance Plan. *** The Architecture Department provides public 3D printers, however many students choose to purchase their own personal 3D printer.
