Adding Printers
*all printing must take place onsite, wireless and remote printing is not supported
From a Lab PC
- Open the Start Menu
- In the search bar, type in \\vulcan.design.upenn.edu
- Right-click on the desired printer and select "Connect..." from the menu that appears
- The printer will now show up in Start Menu -> Devices and Printers
Adding a networked printer on a personal PC (This workflow is for staff only.)
- Make sure your WiFi is disabled and you've connected to Ethernet (networked printing is limited to local Ethernet only)
- Open the Start Menu
- In the search bar, type in \\vulcan.design.upenn.edu
- When prompted to log in, enter your username as design\username and use your Design password.
- If you need to reset your Design password, you can do so here: https://kite.password.isc.upenn.edu/design
- Once you have authenticated successfully, a list of printers will appear. Right-click on the desired printer and select "Connect..." from the menu that appears.
- The printer will now show up in Start Menu -> Devices and Printers
From a Lab Mac
- All printers in the Mac Labs are managed by IT.
- Available printers can be viewed from System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners
Adding a networked printer on a personal Mac
*not all drivers will be supported by Mac, please use the computer labs if you are having trouble printing from your personal mac computer
- Make sure your WiFi is disabled and you've connected to Ethernet (networked printing is limited to local Ethernet only)
- Download and install these HP Printer drivers for Mac. If using MEY3-7800-GX, download this Xerox driver.
- Follow these instructions to add the desired printer.
