Dear Weitzman students,
We hope you are healthy and safe during these challenging times. As the end of the academic year approaches, we wanted to inform you of important information regarding your school accounts and other IT related information for the remainder of the year. Due to the ongoing circumstances, any changes to the information below will be sent with a follow up email.
If you are graduating this May:
[ ] Design Account: Due to current conditions, we are extending access to Design accounts until 12/31/20!
For instructions on accessing your Design Account contents remotely, please see:
[ ] PennO365 Account: Your email account (PENNKEY@design.upenn.edu), Office license, and OneDrive access will remain active until 12/31/20. After December 31, 2020 all data will be permanently deleted — no email will be received or forwarded from that address.
Please take advantage of the rest of the year to address the following; do not wait until the last minute:
i.Back-up emails and contacts (instructions: https://www.design.upenn.edu/it/email)
ii.Back-up any data stored in OneDrive;
iii.Update email settings on all accounts (e.g. Amazon, job postings) with a non-Design address.
[ ] Alumni Email: After Commencement, you have the option to set up a new, full-fledged email account (PENNKEY@alumni.upenn.edu) through the Department of Alumni Relations. For more information, visit the Quaker Gmail FAQ: https://www.alumni.upenn.edu/quakergmail
[ ] Penn+Box: Penn+Box accounts will remain active until 12/31/20! However, please take advantage of the summer and fall to move your data from Penn+Box .The University will deactivate these accounts on 12/31/20, and all data will be permanently deleted.
Note: If you will be working for the Weitzman School in any capacity after graduation, please inform ithelp@design.upenn.edu so we can adjust your status.
If you are a non-Design student taking a class this semester:
[ ] Design Account: Your Design account and any data stored in it will be permanently deleted on 12/31/20.

If you are returning in the fall:
[ ] Design Account: Your Design account will remain active over the summer. If you need files from a Spring 2020 course folder, please make sure to download them before May 22nd (05/22). After that date course folders will be archived on Penn+Box. To request access to an archived course folder, please see your instructor or department coordinator.

[ ] Lab Computer Storage: As a reminder, "Local Data" drives on all lab/public computers are intended for temporary data storage only. All data should be stored in Design-supported storage solutions (e.g. home folder, Penn+Box, OneDriv
IT Staff will format these "Local Data" drives during lab maintenance over the summer, and this data will be permanently deleted.
