Behzad Modanloo is a Ph.D. student and Research Assistant at DumoLab*, Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on exploring the potential of bio-based material for 3D printing. In Dumolab, he strives to forge a path toward a more harmonious and responsible world, where materials play a key role in Fostering a better tomorrow. He holds a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Mazandaran and an M.Sc. in Architectural Technology - Bionic Architecture from the University of Tehran. His dissertation showcased an innovative approach to sustainable building materials, employing robotic fabrication and 3D printing techniques to harness the unique properties of mycelium for a greener future.
He is deeply interested in the integration of biomaterials, natural materials, 3D printing, digital fabrication, and robotic fabrication in sustainable construction practices. His research will focus on exploring the potential of novel biomaterials and sustainable resources to replace conventional construction materials and techniques.
