Dr. Yun Kyu Yi is an educator and researcher specializing in environmental architecture and sustainable technology. He is actively engaged in advanced research encompassing computational building modeling and simulation, building performance evaluation, and indoor occupant behavior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to his tenure at the University of Illinois, Dr. Yi served as a lecturer at several institutions in Korea and contributed his expertise as an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Yi is also a lead author or co-author of numerous scientific papers. He has published more than 36 peer-reviewed journal articles and 33 peer-reviewed conference papers. He participated in the translation of a book that received the Sejong Outstanding Scholarly Book Award. The journal paper titled "Programmable Kiri-Kirigami Metamaterials," which he co-authored, was highlighted on Advanced Science News.
