Professor Michael Henry’s Building Diagnostics and Monitoring class (HSPV 552) visited the Wharton Esherick house in Malvern, PA on October 1st.
As part of their site visit, students documented interior and exterior conditions at the “silo” section of the structure. The visit was a chance for students to observe and understand site context and the broader systems at play, including water flow on the property, that affect both interior and exterior conditions.
Students had the opportunity to tour the house with museum staff, and received a tour of the studio adjacent to the house that Louis Kahn designed with Wharton Esherick.
