Robotic Fabrication & Architectural Design presents design research from the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design’s MSD-RAS program. The book showcases work from the program’s first three years, highlighting how robotics, AI, and computational design are shaping the future of architecture and construction. Through bespoke, technology-driven solutions, MSD-RAS addresses critical challenges in productivity, affordability, and sustainability while also engaging with the complexities of the built environment.
Edited by Robert Stuart-Smith and published by Oro Editions, this milestone publication features contributions from Jeffrey Anderson, Billie Faircloth, Nathan King, Andrew Saunders, Ezio Blasetti, Patrick Danahy, Jose Luis García del Castillo, and Evangelos Kotsioris. The book explores robotically fabricated prototypes, generative design strategies, machine learning applications, real-time adaptive programming, and material innovations. It also includes interviews with graduates and faculty essays on research methodologies, industrial manufacturing, and the role of robotics in expanding design possibilities.
