Delays tend to accumulate as ferries progress along their routes, though how quickly and how much varies by route depending on operational and environmental conditions.
For most excessive delays (>10 minutes) at a ferry landing, the bulk of that lateness was already building at earlier stops or in the water — not caused at the landing itself.
