Leon Clemmer Collection (154), Architect, 1926-2013
born in Philadelphia, Leon Clemmer attended the University of Pennsylvania, earning a bachelor's of architecture in 1951. Before Clemmer established his own firm, he worked for Wark & Company, Howell Lewis Shay, and Samuel I. Oshiver, Vincent G. Kling, Nolen & Swinburne, Gleeson & Mulrooney. After Gleeson & Mulrooney, Clemmer formed a partnership with Edward L. Holland which lasted until 1962, when Clemmer opened his own office in Philadelphia.
The collection contains the architectural drawings of the work of Leon Clemmer from 1962-1991. The materials are related to projects in and around Philadelphia as well as many projects associated with Ocean City, NJ. The collection also contains some of Clemmer’s student work as well as a set of drawings from Vincent Kling’s office.
