Penn Weitzman School Women in Architecture (PWIA) recently hosted a public conversation with Miller Professor and Chair of Architecture Winka Dubbeldam and Julia Gamolina, creator of online publication Madame Architect.
In front of an audience of students and faculty, Dubbeldam shared insights from her education in the Netherlands and the United States, working for Peter Eisenman, and starting her own firm, Archi-Tectonics.
Their conversation was live streamed in collaboration with Madame Architect and video will soon be available.
Launched in May 2018, Madame Architect is a digital platform for women to share their expeirences working in architecture.
An interview with University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design lecturer Brandt Knapp was recently featured on the site.
PWIA have hosted a series of lectures, workshops, and symposiums at the Weitzman School, including [RE]ACTION: Empowering the Future Leaders in Design and [RE]FORM: The Framework, Fallout & Future of Women in Design.
In fall 2018, PWIA students were guest presenters at “A Convergence at the Confluence of Power, Identity and Design” at Harvard's Graduate School of Design.
