Please join ArtBlog with the University of Pennsylvania community for an art safari to callowhill art galleries on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 6:00-9:30pm. Rendez-vous at 319 N. 11th St. on First Friday for a lively walking tour of seven (7!) contemporary art galleries that expand the definition of art and experiment with materials and media other than the expected oil on canvas. April's Art Safari of the 319 N. 11th Street galleries and Space 1026 includes everything from multi-media installations to political cartoons, 3D-printed sculpture, and lenticular prints that change with the colored lens you view them through. Artblog tour guides, Roberta Fallon and Imani Roach, walk you through the art exhibits and facilitate dialog with the artists and gallery curators, who will be there to speak about their works. The lively, fun walking tour is an art world “ice-breaker,” introducing you to some of the great alternative works being shown in Philadelphia. Galleries included in this tour: Vox Populi, Practice, Grizzly Grizzly, Marginal Utility, Napoleon, Automat and Space 1026. The tour will take a pizza break at nearby Wood Street Pizza.
