Staff/Faculty New Printing Instructions (July 2024)

Remove old printer objects

1. Open Printers & Scanners by searching via your taskbar or Start menu.
2. Click on the printer and click Remove device.

1. Connect to the new print server by using the desktop shortcut labeled PRINTERS or by navigating to \\printing.design.upenn.edu.
   • Look for this shortcut on your desktop & double-click on it.
     • 
   • Alternatively, you can type \\printing.design.upenn.edu into the Search on your taskbar or in the address field in File Explorer.
2. Choose the printer you want to use, right-click on it, and choose Connect. 
   • Printer names have buildings as their prefixes, so if you’re in Meyerson, look for printers with MEY at the beginning of their names. 
   • Please be patient as the initial connection to the printer can take up to 30 seconds.
3. The printer should now appear in the list of available printers when you open your file to print.

Using Web Print, you can upload simple PDF or image files through your browser and print them. Only 8.5x11" (letter-size) printing is currently supported.

1. If you are connected to the Weitzman network via ethernet, go to Step 2. If you are using WiFi, connect to the Weitzman VPN. 
2. Go to https://printing.design.upenn.edu:9192/user and sign in with your PennKey credentials.
3. On the left sidebar, click Web Print
4. Click Submit a Job
5. Choose the printer you want to use. You can use the search function to narrow down the list of printers.  
   • Search MEY to find printers in Meyerson, ADD for Addams, DUHR for Duhring.
6. Click Print Options and Account Selection. Specify how many copies you would like to print.
7. Click Upload Documents. Upload file(s) from your computer.  
   • Please note that there is a 100MB file size limit
   • The following file types are allowed: pdf, bmp, dib, gif, jfif, jif, jpe, jpeg, jpg, png, tif, tiff.
8. Click Upload & Complete. This will send your file to the printer.
