The PSU 'Biomaterials and Nature-based Solutions' Workshop will be held at the LiMC2 Convergence Center for Living Multifunctional Material Systems and will discuss the intersection of building materials, nature-inspired materials design, and the social, environmental and global impact of the built environment on the climate crisis. The organizer Zoubeida Ounaies, Director of LiMC2, describes the built environment as "the largest consumer of raw materials, responsible for ~50% of annual global CO2 emissions" and features this research and industry workshop as "a call to action for researchers and innovators to inspire collaborations and generate ideas that will transform the built environment so that it is sustainable and resilient.”
