The photography resources include conventional wet labs, high-level digital photography studios, large-format archival inkjet printers, Hasselblad Flextight film scanners, and private studios. In addition the photography facilities house an equipment room that allows students to reserve specialized photography and video equipment.
Silverstein Digital Projects Lab
The Silverstein Digital Projects Lab is an advanced production studio supporting upper-level photography courses and related media practices. The lab features eleven color-managed digital imaging workstations, professional high-resolution scanning and digital capture systems—including standard- and large-format flatbed scanners, a virtual drum film scanner, and a digital capture station—as well as medium- and large-format Epson inkjet printers with a wide selection of fine art papers and specialty media. GTI color viewing booths and calibrated lighting provide a consistent environment for color evaluation throughout the digital imaging and printing workflow.
Photography Equipment Room
The Photography and Video Equipment Room in the Department of Fine Arts provides access to equipment, studios, and technical support to enhance the department's curriculum and facilitate experimental work in photography, video, sound, animation, and design. The equipment is organized in kits for studio or field production and exhibition installation.
