Warren Powers Laird Collection (047), Architect, 1861-1948
Warren Powers Laird was the first dean of the University of Pennsylvania's School of Fine Arts from 1920-1931. Laird was an advisor on architectural competitions and projects that greatly influenced many important commissions in the United States before the Great Depression.
This collection includes 85 scrapbooks with records from Laird's consulting practice and professional papers. His work with competitions for the design of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and various campus planning projects serve as a reference for other architects.
