William L. Price Collection (311), Architect, 1861-1916

William L. Price, a pioneer in the use of reinforced concrete, worked in the offices of Addison Hutton before joining his brother Frank Furness's office. In 1881, the two formed their own office designing suburban houses in Wanye, Pennsylvania for developers Wendell & Smith as their first commission. Some of Price’s most known projects include the utopian communities of Arden, Delaware and Rose Valley, Pennsylvania.

This collection contains both personal and project-related photographs and drawings. Projects include the Hotel Traymore, Charles E. Hires House, and various travel sketches.
