The Fab Lab sells 1/8in MDF for laser cutting as well as 2in and 4in EPS and 2in HDU foam for CNC Milling. These are purchased within the shop and billed to the student’s Bursar’s account.
Fab Lab material sales are for direct student sales only. Professors, classes, and departments looking to supply students with materials must source their own material. We recommend the vendors below for materials that have approved for shop use by Penn's EHRS (Environmental Health and Radiation Safety. Limited reimbursements for Fab Lab materials used by students are only available for purchases of $500 or over per item category (CNC foam, laser MDF, 3D printing, etc). Reimbursements in smaller amounts cannot be accommodated.

Wood
Please make sure you are not purchasing pressure treated lumber. We do not allow this in the shop and you will be turned away until you have new lumber that is not pressure treated. It is usually greenish in color but should always be labeled as such.
