The Fabrication Lab serves as a practical laboratory extension of classroom theory. The Lab is equipped for all phases of woodworking, metalworking, and machining, as well as digital fabrication with CNC routing, laser cutting, and 3D printing. The lab is available to all University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design students and to all students enrolled in ancillary Weitzman courses.  All eligible students must complete the mandatory Safety Course in order to utilize any of the Lab's resources.

 

Summer 2024

Throughout the Summer of 2024 the Fabrication Lab will be entirely closed due to major construction.  Separate arrangements are being made to accommodate the Summer AAD course outside of the Lab.  Please contact Fable Maas (Fabrication Lab Manager) at kmaas@upenn.edu and Toren Falck (Digital Fabrication Manager) at falckt@upenn.edu to discuss any concerns.

The Shop (and all Shop related resources) will be completely closed for the following days:

Safety Course

You must complete the online Lab Safety Course Module before you may enter the Lab and use any of it's resources. Use this link to access the module in Workday. Please contact Fable Maas with any questions concerning this training.  Representations of previous experience cannot be accepted in lieu of completion of this safety course.

Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 7:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Saturday - Sunday: 11:00am - 6:00pm
