Below is useful IT information for your Fall 2022 planning!

 

Courseware Services

Canvas - Information about the Learning Management System for Faculty, Staff and TAs (https://infocanvas.upenn.edu/)

REMINDER:  If you are looking to use this for your Fall 2022 course offering, you MUST submit a request to have your Canvas Course created! (Request a new Canvas Site here.)

 

Cloud Storage Resources

• PennBox: Cloud Based collaboration service available to all faculty, staff and students.
• Microsoft O365 OneDrive: Cloud based collaboration service available with O365 accounts.

 

Printing

Small format laser and large format plotters are available to all Weitzman users.  Students who wish to use the large format plotters are required to pass a printing quiz first!  All details regarding printing, locations and pricing can be found at our Printing & Scanning page.

Note: This summer, Weitzman ITS upgraded 3 HP Design Jet Z6200 large format printers with new Z6810s (one in Addams and two in Meyerson Hall).

 

Web Conferencing Solutions

• All Weitzman faculty, students and staff have access to a University Zoom account.  You should ONLY be using the university Zoom accounts since these are under FERPA agreements and provide features that are integrated only under the university license.
• All Weitzman faculty, students and staff also have access to Microsoft Teams accounts.

 

AV Technology Upgrades and Resources

Below are some highlights of completed (or soon to be completed!) upgrades this summer.  You may click on the individual locations for additional information including scheduling, details on software, and other hardware technology information located in the space.

Additional AV resources in Studios and other Weitzman Spaces

• Available AV Equipment in Weitzman Buildings
• All Meyerson Studio spaces had preventative maintenance completed earlier this summer to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Note: Each Meyerson studio space with a ceiling mounted projector and input panel will have an AV bag at the location with an HDMI cable to be used for the designated studio.  Please ensure your students are taking proper care of this equipment.
• NEW for Fall 2022: 2 dedicated Dell 55-inch Display carts in Meyerson HSPV studios (Rm 406 and 412) with onboard PCs and web conferencing capabilities
• NEW for Fall 2022: 3 dedicated 65” 4K interactive boards for Addams UGRAD Arch program

 

Weitzman Computer Labs and Central Pool Classrooms

• All Central Pool Classroom reservations (either in Meyerson or other campus locations) should be coordinated with your dept staff using this webform: https://www.design.upenn.edu/forms/classroom-reservations.
• Weitzman Computer labs in Meyerson, Addams and Morgan can be reserved via the individual links found here: https://www.design.upenn.edu/it/lab-and-class-info
• Software and Schedules are posted for each computer lab space.

 

SOFTWARE

Please visit our Software page for detailed information regarding software.  Detailed lists of software in computers labs are highlighted on individual computer lab pages.

NOTE: Students will need to purchase an Adobe subscription on personal devices! These are now available at a much-discounted rate for Weitzman students only or students enrolled in Weitzman courses!

Adobe is available for free in all Weitzman computer labs for students use.  Students will require a free Adobe account in order to use the software in computer labs.
