R. Brognard Okie Collection (108), Architect, 1875-1945
R. Brognard Okie was born in Camden, New Jersey and received his bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1897. In addition to his designs for new buildings, Okie is particularly known for his restoration and reconstruction of Pennsylvania's colonial and vernacular structures, and his rehabilitation of existing buildings to colonial style.
The collection comprises 72 original architectural drawings documenting R. Brognard Okie's designs for the renovation of the American Flag House and Betsy Ross Memorial, 1936-1937.
