William Franklin Durfee was an architect and engineer in Bedford, Massachusetts, and served as a municipal surveyor for five years. In 1861 he was elected a member of the State Legislature, and a year later he went to Lake Superior to report on the suitability of the iron ores of that region for steel-making.
The collection comprises 13 architectural drawings documenting various architectural and engineering projects designed by William Franklin Durfee between 1853-1962.
